J. Eli Johnson · Senior Software Engineer · Eagle Mountain, UT

From equations
to code.

I spent years teaching high-school math — fielding every possible variant of “when will we ever use this?” Then I went and used all of it. Seven-plus years now as a senior front-end engineer shipping e-commerce, Web3, and SaaS platforms, and these days I run an AI-accelerated dev studio from the foot of the Wasatch.

§ 1 · Given

Three premises

(i)

The background

Former evangelist of equations and eternal truths — yes, a math teacher. Now a devoted practitioner of software engineering: same job, honestly. You take an idea and explain it so clearly that even a computer understands it.

(ii)

The household

Husband, dad of two, and staff to a dog named Bert. Most of my off-hours go to teaching my kids to be curious — to notice the infinite beauty all around them and ponder the nature of things.

(iii)

The philosophy

The more I learn, the more I realize how much I don't know. Only a fool believes he knows everything — so I stay curious, stay introspective, and keep the learning loop running.

§ 2 · Proof of work

By construction

  1. 2025 — present

Founder & Principal Engineer · eDot Dev LLC

  4. 2019 — 2021

    Full-Stack Developer · Ilektronx

Single-handedly built a React Native app with FLIR thermal-camera integration that cut oil-tank measurement time 80% — and kept workers off the tanks entirely.

  5. 2018 — 2019

    Full-Stack Developer · Acuitus AG

Real-time asset-tracking maps with Google Maps, GeoJSON, RabbitMQ, ElasticSearch, and Kubernetes. The career change, proven in production.
